Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about membership.
Q. Does my business need to be inspected by the Tourist Board for me to become a member?
A. Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board do require accommodation, attraction and eating out members to be part of a quality assurance scheme. The Tourist Board does not inspect businesses itself. Quality Assurance schemes that Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board accept for membership are:
- VisitEngland’s Accommodation Star Rating Scheme
- The AA’s Accommodation Star Rating Scheme
- VisitBritain’s Code of Conduct for Attractions
- The Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme
- Taste Lancashire
- AA Rosettes
- Michelin Stars

Q. My business is not accommodation, an attraction or an eating out venue, can I still be a member?
A. Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board do accept other types of businesses into membership, however we would want to learn more about your business to ensure membership would meet your requirements. Please contact the membership team on 01772 426462 or email them.
Q. I want to promote my non-tourism business to Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board members, how can you help me? Should I become a member?
A. Membership itself is not an opportunity to promote your business to members. If you would like to promote your services/products to Tourist Board members please contact the membership team on 01772 426462 or email them.
Q. How long will my membership last?
A. Memberships are initially for 12 months (starting on 1st April). However, on occasion Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board offer special promotional memberships of different lengths. Otherwise if you are joining at any point in the membership year other than April you will pay a pro-rata rate for that membership year. Q. How much is membership?
A. The membership fee you pay is dictated by the type and size of your business. Click here to find out the current cost of your membership .
Q. I have more than one business I want to bring into membership. Do I get a discount?
A. Yes, Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board are able to offer group memberships. To find out if you are eligible for a group membership please contact the membership team on 01772 426462 or email them.
Q. How do I apply for membership and arrange to pay for my membership?
A. Visit our Join page on this website. Alternativly contact Zoe, our Membership Executive, by telephone on 01772 426462 or email her at membership@lbtbltd.com.
Q. When will I know that my membership has been accepted?
A. As soon as your application has been processed you will receive a welcome email followed by a welcome letter (which will contain your membership card, plaque and other information). In addition you will receive your first members’ e-newsletter within a month.
