Lancashire Visitor Guide, from Pendle to Olympia
Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) is celebrating British Tourism Week (15-21 March), which aims to raise the local, national and international awareness of the importance of Britain’s £114 billion visitor economy, with two launches of its new Lancashire Visitor Guide 2010.
In a departure from previous guides, the new Lancashire Visitor Guide 2010 includes more in-depth editorial features, as well as interviews with some of the County’s most ardent supporters and learned commentators. It also reflects the tourist board’s new brand values and photography, which more clearly defines Lancashire as a place where life feels good.
Monday 15 March, saw Angela White, manager of Pendle Heritage Centre receiving copies of the guide which carries features on subjects close to her heart including The Pendle Witches.
Members of the tourist board also spent time handing out copies of the new guide and talking through the aims of British Tourism Week.
“We’re delighted to be part of the launch of the Lancashire Visitor Guide during British Tourism Week” said Angela “The guide includes features on the Pendle Witches and businesses across Pendle, which will help promote the destination to a much wider audience. We’re looking forward to a great season ahead and to attracting more new visitors to our amazing heritage attractions and countryside.”
The guide travels further afield on Wednesday 17 March, when LBTB heads to London’s Olympia for the Best of Britain and Ireland (BOBI) travel trade forum and exhibition, where the publication takes centre stage on the stand dedicated to promoting Lancashire and Blackpool to both trade and consumer customers.

From Pendle to London’s Olympia, we’re raising our game with a guide that aims to engage with a wide variety of short-break visitors, who may be completely new to the delights of Lancashire.”
It is hoped that London is just the first stop for the Lancashire Visitor Guide 2010, which is sent on request to Lancastrians and visitors across the globe, or is available to download from visitlancashire.com. In anticipation, LBTB’s marketing team has created a special area on the website for uploading pictures of the guide at locations and landmarks all over the world.
So, don’t forget to take a guide on your travels; pass it on and show the world what a warm welcome awaits visitors to Lancashire.
