Love Food Love Preston

Friday, 24th February 2012

BID’s commitment to promoting eating out in Preston and keeping trade local has given rise to a new campaign promoting the very best of food, drink and fine-dining the city has to offer.

Running throughout August, Love Food Love Preston will see a packed programme of activities designed to encourage people to fall back in love with eating out in the city centre and promoting the purchase and use of locally sourced produce.

The programme will include special menus and offers, throughout the month from city centre restaurants, championing local produce at the Lancashire Market and a “Night with Gino”, a live cookery demonstration and interview with celebrated TV chef, Gino D’Acampo, hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s John Gilmore.

Ken Williams, Chairman of BID said: “The Lancashire Market, initiated and developed by BID, has shown a clear passion for local food and drink.  People are far more concerned in today’s climate that they’re getting quality produce for a reasonable price that isn’t having a detrimental impact on the environment.

“The Love Food Love Preston campaign will showcase the Lancashire Market, Preston’s historical weekday market and our city centre restaurants and cafe bars.  We’re encouraging every eating establishment to get behind this campaign to promote the city’s diverse, quality offering of dining and hospitality”.

The campaign will run from August 6th, with the Lancashire Market and “A Night with Gino” taking place on Saturday August 18th.

Tickets for “A Night with Gino” are now on sale and are available from the Guild Hall Box Office by calling 0845 344 2012 or by booking online at www.prestonguildhall.com – a limited number of VIP tickets, which include a chance to meet Gino in person, are also available.
