visitlancashire.com Online Survey

Each year LBTB offers consumers the opportunity to provide feedback on the board’s visitor website visitlancashire.com via an online survey.

Visitors were encouraged to complete the survey with the incentive of winning a gourmet break at Michelin-starred Northcote. The data from the surveys was collated and analysed towards the end of 2011.

Over 2200 people responded to the survey. These comments and statistics will help with further web developments and in turn benefit LBTBMembers and partners featured on the site.

Year on year LBTB increased traffic to the site by over 38% and saw unique visitors reaching nearly 1 million unique visitors in 2011 and over 5.5 million page views.

The key findings of the survey showed that 96% of the respondents told us they found visitlancashire.com useful and found the site easy to navigate.

Finding out about events and attractions was the main reason for their visit, with competitions, looking for inspiration and special offers the next highest.

Of the question relating to functionality and design, the usefulness and ease of finding information was ranked the highest with the visual appeal of the site ranked close behind.

Asked if they would recommend the site ‘as a good site to visit’ 98% said yes and 93% said they would definitely return and only 0.2% said they would not.

The majority of visitors to the site were UK- based but outside the North West, with 39% either from Lancashire or the North West - no doubt making use of the site for day visits and short breaks.

When asked if they would like to see any additions or improvements to visitlancashire.com they provided lots of encouraging comments. Here are just a few of the many positive comments and suggestions that were received.
