Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) was set up in April 2004 and is a company under the control of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Blackpool Borough Council and Lancashire County Council.
The tourist board is led by a Chief Executive supported by a team of staff whose work is overseen by a board of directors including a Chair and two Vice Chairs.
It supports tourism businesses in the Lancashire and Blackpool sub-region by representing their interests regionally and nationally, by co-ordinating marketing activity, managing and developing the tourism product and working in partnership with industry. Activities in commercial membership, business development, 'Welcome to Excellence' training, visitor services and marketing are all designed to improve quality and achieve common goals.
The Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) is committed to conserving and enhancing the natural assets of the Lancashire sub-region through sustainable tourism. As part of our commitment we maintain membership of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The scheme provides accreditation and encouragement for tourism businesses to reduce the environmental impact of their activities. By encouraging sustainable practices the scheme ensures the continued enjoyment of the environment around us for future generations.
