Taste Lancashire Quality Scheme

Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board has teamed up with Made In Lancashire and Quality in Tourism to produce a new quality award scheme for eating establishments. 

The partnership recognises the importance of the food and drink industry to Lancashire, and have developed this scheme to give acknowledgement to those establishments who provide a consistently high quality eating experience.

Businesses pay an annual fee to Quality in Tourism for participation in the scheme which runs from 1st April to 31st March each year. 

Quality in Tourism will send out renewal notices from January each year for participation in the following year

The award is carried out annually and any type of eating establishment can apply in order to gain its own merit.

Businesses undergo an assessment and are marked against a quality criteria according to the type of eating establishment.


If a score of between 60%-79% is achieved, you will be presented with the 'Quality Assured' Award.

Those who achieve 80% or over will receive the 'Highest Quality Assured' Award.

Plus, if your business meets the requirement for the provision of local produce you will also be given the opportunity to join Made in Lancashire for £60 + VAT.

The Lancashire & Blackpool Tourist Board and Made in Lancashire will also promote you in the following ways:

  • Enhanced website entries on www.visitlancashire.com (Food & Drink Section)
  • The opportunity to feature at food events supported by LBTB/MiL
  • Recognition through LBTB PR activities
  • Opportunity for enhanced entry in LBTB marketing campaigns

Other benefits of participation:

  • Your business will receive a plaque and certificate to display at your eatery and logo bromides will be provided to use in your own marketing activities.
  • Participants will receive a discount voucher towards the cost of a range of LBTB services.
  • Opportunity to join MiL at £60 + VAT per year.
