Members were treated to an in-depth analysis of tourism trends at both national and regional levels at LBTB’s members’ meeting on the 11th June. 

National Tourism Trends

David Edwards of VisitBritain gave an overview of what tourism means to Britain (£85.6bn), Britain’s global share of the market and how Britain stacks up against other nations.  David then went onto highlight the emerging trends, threats and opportunities that have been identified through research undertaken by VisitBritain. Regional Tourism Trends

Phil Reddy of Northwest Regional Development Agency focused on the North West region and aimed to answer the following questions; where do visitors come from, what do they come for and how much do they spend? Facing the Future

Chris Melia of Locum Consulting rounded up the meeting with an overview and opened the floor to a discussion on how the businesses attending could develop in order to take advantage of the opportunities and to reduce the impact of any threats.

Social Networking Opportunities Workshop
