Lancashire and Blackpool Group Guide 2009/10

Organised coach tourism generates over 2 million trips each year to the Northwest. These are worth £120m spend in the region.

The majority of coach operators UK wide are taking day trips and short breaks to the Northwest
• Overall, the average number of day trips per operator to the region was 70 per year
• The average number of staying trips was over 20 per year

Lancashire was the most popular destination accounting for just over half of the region’s overnight trips.

Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) have commissioned Graphic Design to publish the 2009/10 bi-annual Official Lancashire and Blackpool Group Travel Guide.

This is the main tool, alongside our dedicated website www.lancashiregroups.com, used by organisers, operators and drivers to research and plan group trips to Lancashire.

Graphic Design will produce the guide in conjunction with LBTB and local tourism officers. The 2009/10 guide will be A4 landscape format and promote our region as a fabulous group destination from 2008 to 2012.

The guide is a practical and easy to use central source of information devoted to Lancashire’s tourism businesses and specifically tailored to the needs of those organising group
travel to Lancashire.

15,000 copies of the guide will be distributed as follows: -
• Tour and coach operators on the LBTB database
• Attendees at major group exhibitions
• As an e-brochure from www.lancashiregroups.com
• The guide will also be promoted through other group travel trade publications

Advertising in the Official Lancashire and Blackpool Group Travel Guide 2009/10 will help ensure that this is a comprehensive publication stimulating group visits to Lancashire and creating additional business for you.
