One of the key issues currently facing the tourism industry is the need to attract and hold onto quality staff who possess the skills and attributes todays' industry demands.
The following pages provide information on training, initiatives, events and news aimed at encouraging tourism businesses to equip staff with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver a world class customer experience.
Businesses are encouraged to promote training as an integral part of their development and by investing in training will attract and retain the best staff.
Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board have a range of skills initiatives available to businesses, many of which are aided with financial support. These include the Welcome to Excellence programme of one day training courses, showcasing events for chefs, best practice development days, tourism awards and many others.
These pages will also signpost businesses to other areas of support and provide updates of regional and national initiatives.
